Churches and Pastoral Committee (CPC)

The Churches & Pastoral Committee (CPC) meets four times a year.

Its functions are:

  • To review the pastoral need for church buildings in the Diocese
  • To administer the scheme for quinquennial inspection of churches
  • To consider applications from parishes for grants for repair, renewal or maintenance of unlisted church buildings (up to a maximum of £1000)
  • To assist in the process of closure and redundancy of churches

Members of the committee include the two Archdeacons, a representative from the DAC, and other members with an interest and/or qualification in architecture, planning and mission.
