The appointment of the Very Revd June Osborne as Bishop of Llandaff will be legally confirmed at a Sacred Synod meeting on July 14.
The bishops of the Church in Wales appointed Mrs Osborne as Bishop of Llandaff in April. Before she can be consecrated as Bishop, however, the Church’s Constitution requires that the appointment has to be formally confirmed. At the Sacred Synod meeting, the bishops will ensure that Mrs Osborne is eligible to be a bishop, that the process of appointing her was carried out properly and that no objections from Church in Wales members have been brought.
The Sacred Synod is a public meeting which will take place during a service of Choral Evensong at Brecon Cathedral on July 14 at 6pm.
Subject to her appointment being confirmed, the new Bishop of Llandaff will then be consecrated at Brecon Cathedral the following day (July 15).
