Saturday 18th June - Open 10am to 3pm
- 1pm – Churchyard tour* with Martyn Griffiths
- Parish Registers will be available, as well as a tour of the belfry and opportunities to learn how to ring the bells. (There will be a display of information relating to the bells for those unable to access the belfry which is not accessible for those with mobility issues)
- Children’s Quiz and Church Treasure Hunt available throughout the day
Monday 20th June - Open 12.30pm to 4pm
- 1pm - Robert King will give a talk on -'A Royal Connection' relating to Edward II
Tuesday 21st June - Open 12.30pm to 4pm
- 11am – Churchyard tour* with Martyn Griffiths
- 2pm - Philip John will be telling the stories of the memorials dedicated to Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Place, Diana Ainsley Bowzer and Nash Vaughan Edwards Vaughan
Wednesday 22nd June - Open 12.30pm to 4pm
- 2pm - Philip John will be giving tours of the memorials dedicated to Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Place, Diana Ainsley Bowzer and Nash Vaughan Edwards Vaughan
Thursday 23rd June - Open 12.30pm to 4pm
- 1pm Robert King will give a talk on ‘Joseph Tregelles Price- the Quaker ironmaster of Neath Abbey’
Friday 24th June - Open 12.30pm to 4pm
- 1pm - Bernard Lewis will give a talk on Henry Tennant
*CHURCHYARD TOURS
- Resident historian, Martyn Griffiths will be conducting two churchyard tours during the Festival. Some of the topics that will be touched on during the tours include:
- A link to King Charles II/A link to Buffalo Bill/Neath Library/The only Knight in the churchyard/Mentor to Alfred Russell Wallace/An 18th century Ironmaster/The largest family in Wales? And a personal friend of King George IV.
- Copper from Chile/The Mumbles Railway/The Rebecca Riots/The Tennant Canal/From Vicar to Landowner/The Murder Stone/The Titanic and the Cholera Epidemics
- The above are scheduled for good weather but if rain is a problem Martyn will provide a tour inside of the church with various items of interest – the font, the pulpit, windows plus other memorials
