Closing date: 31 January 2019

THE DIOCESE OF LLANDAFF

Rector for the Benefice of Bridgend

(Coity, Nolton and Brackla with Coychurch)

‘Sharing God’s love within our communities’

We are seeking a new Rector for this benefice which is one of the largest in Llandaff Diocese. It is located close to the mountains of the valleys, the beautiful Heritage Coast, and the stunning Vale of Glamorgan. Comprising a three-church parish based around the town and the historic semi-rural community of Coychurch, the benefice is an exciting place to live and work.

The Rector will lead a team of Clergy, Readers and lay volunteers serving a growing population with a diverse demographic.

This post is ideal for someone who is ready to create a new future, engage with people of all ages and different liturgical preferences, and enjoys delivering on strategic mission.

The benefice has identified as its priorities:

  • The spiritual nurture of its members
  • Ministry and outreach to children, young people and families
  • Developing the churches as focal points within their local communities
  • Reaching out to local communities through pastoral care and social action

The successful candidate will have experience of working collaboratively within a team, be a skilled pastor, be able to communicate and enthuse people with the gospel, and have the potential to train newly-ordained clergy.
