Organisational development adviser Matthew Batten is to join Llandaff Diocese as the new Director of Communications and Engagement.
Matt, who has worked at the Royal College of Nursing for the past 11 years, takes up his post at the end of May.
Announcing his appointment, the Bishop of Llandaff, June Osborne, said, “I am delighted to be welcoming Matt Batten to the Diocese of Llandaff as our new Director of Communications and Engagement.
“He brings with him great energy and extensive experience of national organisations seeking to make a difference. I am confident that he will play an important role in the implementation of our strategic vision “Where Faith Matters” and look forward very much to working with him as a colleague”.
Matt started his career in communication and engagement at Stonewall Cymru, where he was Policy and Public Affairs Officer. He joins the diocese from the Royal College of Nursing where he’s worked for 11 years, most recently as Organisational Development Adviser leading on transformational change.
He said, “I’m thrilled to be joining the Diocese of Llandaff at such an exciting time. I truly believe the new vision will do much to invigorate the diocese, and I look forward to working with our church communities to turn vision into reality.”
Matt regularly attends St Paul’s church in Grangetown.
