Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

Holy Communion

At Holy Communion blessed bread and wine is shared, by which we receive the body and blood of Jesus Christ. The congregation gives thanks for Jesus’ life, his death and resurrection and his continuing presence. See also Eucharist.

Llandaff Centre of Mission

A partnership between the Diocese of Llandaff and Church Army.

Discover the Beauty of South Wales Church Life

The Churches Unlocked Festival was founded in 2022 by the Diocese of Llandaff's Church Buildings Team to celebrate the history, stories and hidden treasures of church buildings in the diocese. Participating churches unlocked their doors for days at a time, to welcome in visitors from their communities and far and wide. With the amazing talents and efforts of our church volunteers, it became clear that the festival was doing far more than celebrating church buildings.

The festival celebrates all the joys in church life past and present including music, arts and crafts, quizzes, history talks, tours, and lots of family fun.

We can't wait to see you.
