Pupils from All Saints Church in Wales Primary School in Barry enjoyed an unforgettable experience this week when they were invited to perform at the Church in Wales Governing Body meeting at ICC Wales in Newport.The prestigious gathering brought together representatives from across the Church in Wales, and the All Saints pupils were given the special opportunity to contribute to the education section of the meeting through a joyful musical performance.Taking to the stage in the impressive surroundings of ICC Wales, the children performed songs through the school's work with iSingPOP, sharing a wonderful message of faith, hope and joy with the wider Church in Wales family.Despite performing in front of such a significant audience, the pupils rose magnificently to the occasion. Their singing, enthusiasm and confidence shone through, creating an incredibly proud and moving moment for everyone from All Saints.Mrs Louise Webb, Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Member and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Lead at All Saints, said: "Watching our children take to the stage with such confidence, joy and enthusiasm was incredibly moving. They weren't simply performing songs; they were sharing something of who we are as a school – a community rooted in faith, kindness, belonging and the belief that every child should be given opportunities to flourish."They represented themselves, their families, All Saints and the wider Barry community magnificently. We could not have been prouder of them."The performance celebrated the strong relationship between All Saints and iSingPOP, with music and worship playing an important part in school life and providing pupils with opportunities to explore, celebrate and express their faith through song.Mrs Webb added: "Opportunities like this are so important for our children. To see them standing on such an impressive stage, sharing their gifts with people from across the Church in Wales and enjoying every second of it was incredibly special."Most importantly, the children were themselves. They were joyful, kind, respectful and full of enthusiasm from beginning to end. They were wonderful ambassadors for All Saints, and seeing the pride on their faces afterwards was something we will all remember."The school extends its heartfelt thanks to Lisa Taylor and Amy Bulpin from the Church in Wales for providing the children with such a wonderful opportunity and for the warmth, encouragement and support shown to the school throughout.Special thanks also go to Miz, Carys and the entire iSingPOP team, whose enthusiasm, music and ongoing work with the school helped make the performance such a joyful and memorable experience for the children.At the heart of the occasion was a wonderful reminder that children are not simply the future of the Church, but an important and valued part of its life today. Through their voices, enthusiasm and faith, the pupils were able to make their own contribution to this significant gathering and share something of the joy that characterises life at All Saints.The school's values – "Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Responsible" – were evident not only while the children were performing, but also in the way they conducted themselves throughout the visit.Mrs Webb said: "Our school motto reminds us that, 'As many hands build a house, so many hearts make a school,' and this was a wonderful example of that in action."We want our children to know that their voices matter and that the gifts God has given them should be celebrated and shared. To watch them doing exactly that on such a significant stage, surrounded by the wider Church in Wales family, was an absolute privilege."It was a day filled with joy, and we could not be prouder of every single one of them."The experience was a beautiful example of the Christian vision at the heart of All Saints – enabling children to flourish, recognise their God-given gifts and use those gifts in the service and encouragement of others.It provided a memorable start to the new academic year and an occasion the children and the whole All Saints family will treasure: a day of music, fellowship and faith, and above all, a celebration of the joy that children bring to the life of our schools and the wider Church.
