Text block 1

The congregation of St John the Baptist, Troedyrhiw in Merthyr Tydfil Ministry Area has continued its commitment to compassionate outreach this year as members of the church’s Knit and Natter group hand‑knitted blankets for people affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.Working in partnership with a Cardiff‑based volunteer network that collects handmade blankets and other donated essentials from community groups, the church contributed items that were transported directly to Ukraine to support families living through conflict and displacement. The group had completed five blankets so far, each one crafted with care and offered as a gesture of warmth and solidarity to those in need.St John’s Knit and Natter met every Thursday at 2pm, welcoming anyone who wished to join in fellowship, creativity, and acts of kindness.“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2Their work stood as a quiet but powerful reminder of the difference small acts of generosity can make in the lives of others.
