Merthyr Tydfil is one of the great towns of South Wales. The churches across the town have embarked on a journey of transformation and renewal. Not content to manage decline, the churches are planning to take some radical steps to help them work together and make the most of their resources to ensure the church in Merthyr doesn’t just survive but thrives in the year again.As part of a strong and collaborative team, working alongside the Ministry Area Leader and the Vicar for Evangelism and Discipleship, the Bishop of Llandaff is therefore looking to appoint a priest who can:Enrich and support the liturgical life of the churches, strengthening the catholic tradition and growing a rich sacramental life across the ministry area.Reach out to local families with children, working with schools, providing worship, pastoral care and nurture, preparing young people for baptism and confirmation and encouraging young vocations into ordained ministry.Play their part across the ministry area, helping to establish new teams and new congregations as the ministry area transitions into a more sustainable shape.Play an active role in ministry and mission throughout the ministry area, looking to work with the other clergy and laity to build new opportunities to share the gospel across the town.For a full profile and application please click here: https://llandaff.churchinwales.org.uk/en/about-us/vacancies/For an informal chat about this role, please contact Ven. Our Ministry Area brings together coastal, urban and semi-rural communities within Bridgend County Borough. We value the breadth of Anglican life – from choral and traditional worship to contemporary and inter-generational services – and we work very deliberately as a team of clergy and laity, sharing responsibility and joy in ministry.The Porthcawl and Kenfig Ministry Area consists of an established group of church communities embedded in a strong Welsh identity. There are established links with schools and a wide range of community groups. There are active partnerships with charities and local businesses, civic bodies and charities. Within this Ministry Area there is a rich rhythm of seasonal festivals and town/village events.
