The Church in Wales Disability Welcome Project consultation period is now open. During this period, we are sharing a written consultation and organising a series of two-hour online workshops during November, covering different areas of lived experience of disability.
Both the written consultation and the workshops are open to anyone who wishes to contribute, whether or not they have already expressed an interest in joining an Advisory Group covering a particular area of experience. You are welcome to attend more than one workshop and also to contribute in writing.
Please spread the word! The more people who get involved, the better.
Information about the consultation and workshops will also be shared through the Church in Wales’ social media channels, and we are working with journalists and media organisations to help spread the word.
You can complete the written consultation here: Ymgynghoriad Croeso Anabledd / Disability Welcome Consultation
You can book to attend one or more workshops here: Archebu Gweithdy Ar-lein / Online Workshop Booking
If you know others who may wish to participate or join one of the Advisory Groups for the duration of the project, please encourage them to get involved. If you have any questions, require the consultation in an alternative format, or would like to discuss accessibility requirements or reasonable adjustments, please contact DisabilityWelcome@cinw.org.uk
We’re really excited about getting started with this project and hearing your experiences and ideas about how we can be a church that follows Jesus by being as welcoming, accessible and inclusive as possible to disabled people.
The workshop programme is shown in the image below, with dates, times and subjects, along with an indication of the workshop for which BSL interpretation will be provided. Further dates for later in November will be released shortly. If you require BSL interpretation but wish to attend another workshop, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can explore appropriate arrangements.

Anyone wishing to attend should complete the workshop booking form so that we can administrate their booking and understand any accessibility requirements or reasonable adjustments.
The consultation closes at 23.59 on Monday 30 November 2026.
Thank you again for your support. We very much hope that you will take part and help us encourage others to contribute too.
Kind regards
James, Edward and Sue
