Elections 2026

We are currently electing Clergy and Lay Members to the Representative Body and the Governing Body.

The deadline for all nominations is 9am, on Monday 7th September.

The Governing Body is the church equivalent of Parliament and makes decisions that affect all areas of church life.

Because its business covers such a broad agenda, the Governing Body needs members with a wide range of interests who can reflect the views of their local churches and report back to them on the work of the Governing Body.

The Diocesan Conference needs to elect two clerical members.

The Representative Body is the finance arm of the Church in Wales, holding assets which include circa 1300 churches, 900 parsonage houses, agricultural land and a £500m+ investment portfolio. These are used to ensure that the Church’s mission and ministry needs are funded appropriately for today while at the same time securing its long-term future.

A key function of the RB in the next few years will be to disperse the £100m ‘Growth Fund.’

The key areas of expertise required of members of the RB are investments and banking; audit and accountancy; property; and human resources.
