Cynon Uchaf Ministry Area Service Celebrates Unity, Love, and Shared Calling
A Cynon Uchaf Ministry Area service at St Fagan’s brought the community together in a powerful celebration of the unity of the Trinity, reflecting on the many ways in which we are different yet deeply united in Christ. The service explored how love is the thread that binds us together and enables us to live out our Christian calling in our churches and communities.
To symbolise this unity, members of the congregation brought forward objects representing the ways they love, serve, and reach out to others. These items were laid at the altar as a visible sign of the diverse gifts offered in ministry. Among them were gardening gloves from those who tend the churchyards, the “Shine” lighthouse symbolising work with young people, a thurible representing the ministry of servers, Bibles, tablecloths, and even tins of beans — each one reflecting a different project, act of service, or offering of time within the life of the church.
Together, these symbols painted a rich picture of a community united in purpose, each person contributing in their own way to the shared mission of the Church.
As Scripture reminds us, “Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.” — Colossians 3:14
The service at St Fagan’s stood as a joyful reminder that while our gifts may differ, love unites us, and through that love we continue to serve God and neighbour with faithfulness and hope.
