Llandaff Cathedral welcomed pets and their owners to its annual Pet Service, celebrating the special place that animals hold in people's lives and giving thanks for God's gift of creation.

The Cathedral was also pleased to welcome a representative from Guide Dogs Cymru, whose presence highlighted the life-changing support assistance dogs provide to people living with sight loss. Generous donations were received in support of the charity's work, for which the Cathedral expressed its sincere gratitude.

The annual service provided an opportunity to reflect on the important role animals play in human lives. From faithful companions in the home to working animals that support and assist people every day, animals enrich lives in countless ways. Within the Christian tradition, animals are understood to be part of God's good creation, entrusted to humanity's care and stewardship. The service celebrated the joy, comfort, loyalty and companionship that animals bring, while also giving thanks for the wonder and diversity of the natural world.

The Cathedral's Pet Service remains a popular fixture in the annual calendar, offering a joyful opportunity for people to celebrate and give thanks for the animals who share their lives.
