Members of the South Cardiff Ministry Area visited Cardiff Reform Synagogue to take part in a Shabbat service and Kiddush, as part of their ongoing commitment to building interfaith friendships and strengthening relationships between Christian and Jewish communities in the city.

Shabbat is the Jewish day of rest and worship, observed from Friday evening to Saturday evening. It is a time dedicated to prayer, reflection, family and community. The visitors joined the synagogue congregation for the Shabbat service, gaining a deeper understanding of Jewish faith and practice.

Following the service, members shared in the Kiddush, a gathering that traditionally includes blessings over wine and bread and provides an opportunity for fellowship and conversation within the community.

The visit offered a valuable opportunity to learn from one another, deepen mutual understanding and celebrate the strong relationships that continue to flourish between faith communities in Cardiff.

Members of the Ministry Area expressed their gratitude to everyone at Cardiff Reform Synagogue for the warm welcome they received, describing the morning as both inspiring and enriching.

The visit formed part of the Ministry Area’s wider commitment to fostering positive interfaith relationships and working alongside people of different faiths for the benefit of the whole community.
