Members of Mothers' Union Llandaff gathered in Ystrad Mynach for their Annual Gathering, coming together for fellowship, worship and reflection on the vital role women have played throughout the history of God's people.
The guest speaker was Archdeacon Anne Marie, who explored the stories of biblical women whose contributions are often overlooked, including Jael and Judith. Through their examples of courage, faith, wisdom and determination, she highlighted how women have always played an essential part in God's story, often acting with remarkable strength in challenging and extraordinary circumstances.

Members reflected on how these stories continue to inspire Christians today, encouraging people to recognise their own gifts, stand firm in their faith and trust that God can work through each person in unexpected and powerful ways.
The gathering reflected the words of Proverbs 31:25: "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." These words echoed the examples of the women discussed during the event and served as a reminder of the strength and faithfulness that have characterised generations of Christian women.
Mothers' Union continues to play a vital role in communities across the Diocese of Llandaff and beyond. Through its commitment to supporting families, strengthening relationships, promoting prayer and tackling poverty and injustice, the organisation makes a significant difference to the lives of countless people. Its members embody Christian service in action, offering practical support, friendship and hope to those who need it most.
Those attending left encouraged by the stories they had heard and inspired to continue living out their faith with confidence, knowing that God calls and equips ordinary people to serve Him in extraordinary ways.
