St Peter’s Church committee in the East Vale Ministry Area held a lively and heart‑warming Bank Holiday garden party, generously hosted by Michael and Clare Morgan. The event brought together families, friends and neighbours for an afternoon of fun, fellowship and fundraising in support of 2Wish, the church’s chosen charity.
2Wish is a Welsh charity providing immediate and long‑term support for parents and families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a child or young adult. Their work includes crisis support, counselling, memory‑making resources and ongoing care for bereaved families across Wales. The charity’s mission is to ensure that no parent faces such devastating loss alone.
Thanks to the generosity of those who attended, the garden party raised over £1,600 to help 2Wish continue this vital work.
Guests enjoyed a BBQ, a well‑stocked bottle stall, classic games such as splat‑a‑rat, and plenty of activities for children. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the chance to “beat the goalie”, with Fr Martyn gamely taking his place between the posts as young footballers lined up to test their skills.

The atmosphere throughout the day was one of joy, community spirit and shared purpose, a celebration of generosity and togetherness.
“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.”- Proverbs 11:25
Through laughter, hospitality and shared commitment, St Peter’s Church has helped carry the burdens of families supported by 2Wish.
