Cowbridge Ministry Area, Glamorgan Heritage Coast Ministry Area and The East Vale Ministry Area came together at this year’s Vale Show for a vibrant celebration of our thriving rural churches and the joyful witness they bring to their communities.

Always held on a Wednesday in August, the Vale Show regularly attracts over 20,000 visitors from all walks of life, from town and countryside alike. Held at Penllyn, it has grown considerably over the years and is now the largest one‑day event in the Vale of Glamorgan, with more than 200 trade stands alongside livestock and horse showing. This bustling, friendly atmosphere offered an ideal setting for ministry teams to meet people, share stories, and offer a warm Christian welcome.

In the midst of the excitement, clergy and volunteers found wonderfully creative ways to open conversations about Jesus, whether spinning plates, juggling, dressing up, or even fist‑pumping the DDO.

These joyful moments helped spark meaningful encounters with visitors of all ages, showing how faith can be shared in ways that are fun, accessible and rooted in community life.

Working together across three Ministry Areas, teams demonstrated the strength of collaboration in rural ministry. Their shared presence highlighted a deep commitment to helping people encounter Jesus in unexpected and memorable ways, and to celebrating the life and witness of our rural churches.

As we give thanks for this day of shared witness, we are reminded of the words of the psalmist: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)
