A prayer for Ukraine
Bishop June invites the Diocese of Llandaff to light a candle at 8pm each evening to pray for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
A prayer for those suffering as a result of this war.
Almighty God, hear our cry for those who suffer as a result of this conflict, for those in this country who are concerned for loved ones living in Ukraine, for those who have fled their homeland and longing to return, for those who have lost homes, livelihoods and hope for the future, for those who have been injured in body, mind or spirit by the conflict, for those who mourn loved ones killed by the bombing and fighting.
Lord, we see too clearly the devastation and human cost of this war, and we ask you to gently surround all who need you this day with the knowledge of your unfailing love.
Soften the hearts and open the eyes of all who seek the continuation of this violent military conflict, so that they may see the damage, pain and cruelty that is being inflicted on their fellow humans, and by seeing the pain, they may be led, through your Holy Spirit, to repentance, and through repentance to seek the ways that leads to peace, reconciliation and restoration to that part of the world, through the one who calls all to live in peace and harmony with one another, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
A Prayer for Ukraine
God of all people and author of peace,
We pray for all who are involved in the current confrontation in and surrounding Ukraine. May the nations of the world, their governments and leaders base their decisions upon Your wisdom in all that makes for peace.
Loving God, we recognise that conflict brings tragic loss for all involved, and so we pray that eyes and hearts may be opened to those things that unite us in our common humanity.
At this time of fear and tension, we pray for your beloved children; that they may know a de-escalation of fear and threat, which would enable them to live in peace and dignity.
We pray for a longed-for restoration of tranquility in Ukraine.
Lord, we recognise that prayer is a privilege and responsibility of each one of us; and so we hold in our hearts this situation, its context, and the future, secure in the love shown for all people through Your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen

A prayer for peace from South Cardiff Ministry Area
God our Father, may your peace, which is beyond all understanding, fill the hearts and minds of all.
May those who walk the borders seek peace not pain, and wander across the ways of justice and love.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
