Celebrating All Saints CinW Primary School’s Double Success
We’re delighted to share fantastic news from All Saints Church in Wales Primary School, which has achieved not one but two national awards, recognising its outstanding commitment to inclusivity and pupil support.

Firstly, the school has been officially accredited as a School of Sanctuary.
The School of Sanctuary Award is a national recognition for schools that go above and beyond to create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe environment for everyone—especially refugees, asylum seekers, and those seeking sanctuary. To achieve the award, schools commit to a process of learning about forced migration, embedding inclusive values into school life, and sharing their efforts with the wider community. It highlights a school's dedication to compassion, empathy, and social justice, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
Through this award, schools help foster a culture of belonging and active citizenship, rooted in dignity and respect for all. This award celebrates the school’s whole-community approach to creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children, including those seeking sanctuary. The assessment panel praised the school’s inviting atmosphere, inclusive displays, and inspiring pupil leadership—highlighting groups such as the Young Interpreters and Red to Racism, whose members spoke confidently about supporting others and championing equality and anti-racism.

All Saints has also been awarded the Basics of the Young Carers in Schools Programme Award. The Young Carers in Schools Programme Award is a UK-wide initiative led by The Children’s Society and Carers Trust that recognises schools for their excellence in identifying and supporting young carers—students under 18 who regularly care for ill, disabled, or vulnerable family members.
Schools work through a clear framework of five standards—Understand, Inform, Identify, Listen, and Support—across Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. This award enables schools to create a more inclusive, compassionate environment where young carers can thrive alongside their peers.
Clare Werrett, Head of Education for the Dioceses of Llandaff and Monmouth, said, "This is such wonderful news. We are incredibly proud that one of our schools has received both the School of Sanctuary Award and the Young Carers in Schools Programme Award.
These honours are a powerful reflection of the school’s deep commitment to compassion, justice, and inclusion — values rooted in our Christian faith. The Bible calls us to 'act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God' (Micah 6:8), and it is truly inspiring to see these principles lived out in the daily life of the school community.
We celebrate this recognition as a testament to the loving, supportive environment our staff, learners, and their families have worked so hard to build."
Congratulations to everyone at All Saints for these well-deserved achievements—it’s inspiring to see such dedication to inclusion and pupil wellbeing in action.
