‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

Saturday 25 June is our Family Fun Day at Churches Unlocked Festival. With three churches hosting events across the diocese, there is plenty going on for everyone.

Fun for all the family
St Theodore, Port Talbot - 12 noon-4pm
  • Family Fun Afternoon.
  • Bring your own picnic.
  • Lots of fun and games...and circus skills!
St Andrew, St Andrew's Major - 11am to 2pm
  • Children’s activities in the churchyard – bug hunting, lichen spotting, brass rubbing and glass painting. Suitable for ages 5-12.
  • Vestments and Parish Registers on display for family history research.
  • Tours of St Andrew’s as requested.
  • Art display with artwork created during the Churches Unlocked Festival.
St Cynwyd, Llangynwyd
  • Story Time with Maesteg Library.
  • Afternoon music Recitals.
  • For children aged 3-83!
