Holy Week and Easter at Eglwys Dewi Sant
Dear Friends,
Easter is late this year, with Easter Day falling on the third Sunday in April. By then Spring will be in all its glory, and life will have taken hold and will be busy re-establishing itself after the long Winter. We are fortunate in northern hemisphere to have Spring and Easter coincide, for the new life we see in the natural world around us at this time of year points to the new life and the hope that comes to us through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Every year Holy Week and Easter invites us to journey the way of the cross, to journey through the suffering, the devastation and hopelessness of Good Friday and to reach the end of that journey with the hope, the joy and the new life that comes because of the empty tomb and the risen Christ. Both the Passion and the Resurrection proclaim the truth that however difficult things get and however black the night becomes a new dawn will shine upon us. After the cross comes the dawn of the third day.
During Holy Week and Easter this year again there will be a mixture of services in church and in the form of podcasts. I very much hope that you will join us so that we may all journey together into the mystery of our salvation that comes to us through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Gyda phob bendith dros yr Ŵyl sanctaidd hon,
Dyfrig (Ficer Eglwys Dewi Sant)
