Llansannor & Llanharry C/W Primary School named School of Sanctuary

Congratulations toLlansannor & Llanharry C/W Primary School in @Cowbridge Ministry Area who are the first of our schools in the Vale of Glamorgan to be given the prestigious Schools of Sanctuary Award, following two years of hard work.

The Schools of Sanctuary is a UK-wide project recognising schools that educate the whole school community about the experiences and realities of people who have been forced to flee their homes to foster understanding, connection and solidarity.

To receive the award schools must demonstrate a culture of welcome and safety where every child can thrive, and raise awareness and advocate for a kinder approach towards those seeking safety.

Members of the Vale Cohesion Team, Learning Links Team and Cllr Sivagnanam came to the school to give them their award during a special service led by the school’s worship leaders.

It was a joyful occasion for everyone. The Parent Teacher Association made sure each child had a piece of cake to celebrate the success.

It’s wonderful to see Llansannor & Llanharry C/W Primary School being recognised for living out our calling to ‘act justly, love goodness, and to walk humbly with our God.’(Micah 6:8)
