Meet our New Engagement Workers
Get to know our brand new Engagement Workers in the Young Faith Matters team, Abbie and Sam. Their appointments have been as part of the Diocese of Llandaff's committment to nuturing faith in young people as part of their success bid to the Church in Wales' Evangelism Fund. The Evangelism Fund was set up in 2018 to help engage people with the Christian faith in vibrant and exciting ways.
The Bishop of Llandaff, June Osborne, said of our successful bid, “Our ambitious plans include reaching out to young people in new and exciting ways. Our aim is for the church to connect with children and young adults, to engage with what is important to them, and thus to feel more relevant in today’s society. With loneliness and social media impacting on young people’s mental health and wellbeing, the church can offer love, hope and sense of community to those young people who are searching for a greater sense of purpose.
“It’s an exciting time for us at the Diocese of Llandaff as we begin to reach out with an offer of faith and belonging to this missing generation. We can’t wait to show just how fulfilling a life lived in Christ can be.”
Sam and Abbie are coming to the Diocese from backgrounds in education and Citizen Church, but we'll let them introduce themselves:
