St Mary the Virgin CinW Primary School in Butetown is celebrating an excellent Estyn inspection report, which praises the school’s strong leadership, inclusive ethos and outstanding commitment to pupil wellbeing.
Inspectors highlighted the school’s compassionate, family‑centred environment, where pupils feel safe, respected and eager to learn. They commended the headteacher’s purposeful leadership and the staff’s dedication to supporting the diverse needs of every child.
Provision for wellbeing was recognised as a particular strength, with pupils developing confidence, emotional resilience and a strong sense of belonging. The report also praised the school’s commitment to cultural diversity, community engagement and high‑quality teaching that enables pupils to make strong progress from their starting points.
