Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

Evangelism

‘Evangelion’ means ‘good news’. Evangelism is about sharing the good news of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection in the hope that others may come to believe in and follow Jesus.

Young Faith Matters: Highlights so far and plans for the future

The diocesan Young Faith Matters (YFM) team presented to the Church in Wales Evangelism Fund in June 2022. The highlights of their bid are available to read in the document below.

The Young Faith Matters team has been heading the diocesan focus on young people since 2020. So far, they have been targeting the relationships between churches and schools to bring faith into the space of primary and secondary school students where they can actively engage with the story of God.

YFM have also been enabling youth ministry in ministry areas across the diocese by providing advice, training, guidance, resources and networking.

Next for the YFM team is instigating the Flourish mental heath programme in schools, providing training for youth discipleship and continual support and enabling of youth ministry in the Diocese of Llandaff.
