Young People Explore Faith at Spree Wales 2025
Approximately 400 young people aged 8-15 from different denominations and churches came to Carmarthen Showground for one amazing weekend with God at Spree Wales, the largest children and youth Christian festival in Wales.
A group of young people from the Diocese of Llandaff attended, with the YFM Team helping oversee the spiritual input in Fusion, the 11–15-year-old venue, including leading worship and teaching. There were over 50 young people from Swansea and Brecon Diocese as well, so the Church in Wales was well represented this year at Spree Wales.

There is so much to do at Spree: from inflatable assault courses to rock climbing wall, swimming pools to silent disco. The spiritual input is also important at Spree, including a pizza party with Alpha Youth and late-night worship on the Saturday evening.
The theme this year was ‘journeying with Jesus’, exploring moments in the Bible where people had met with Jesus: blind Bartimeus’ story, disappointment for the disciples on the Emmaus Road, Paul’s transformation on the road to Damascus and Philip’s call to reach others in Acts 8 with the Eunuch.
One young person from our Diocese said, “This weekend has been genuinely the most magical experience I’ve ever had.
I’ve decided to live my life for Jesus and I’ve never felt more connected to him than now.”
Grace, the youth worker at Citizen Church said, “my highlight was seeing teenage boys, encouraging each other to go deeper in worship, heartfelt moments of surrender, arms around each other, weeping in the presence of God.
The level of expectation and desperation to meet with God was so encouraging!
Especially seeing a group of five boys come to give their lives to Jesus and take that next step towards him, and asking how they can start a Youth Alpha at their school!”
Next year is the 20th anniversary of Spree Wales, so it’s going to be a special weekend. The dates have been confirmed as 3rd-5th July 2026 at Carmarthen Showground.
