Diocese

‘Diocese’ refers to the geographical territory in which a bishop exercises oversight. The Church in Wales is divided into six dioceses each with its own cathedral in which is housed the cathedra (the bishop’s ‘chair’ or ‘throne’).

WODS

The Llandaff Widows, Orphans and Dependants Society (WODS) give financial and emotional support to the widows, widowers and dependants of the priests who have served in our diocese.

We make sure that their annual income does not fall below a threshold and we offer support to approximately 40 widow(er)s, who each receive a gift at Christmas and Easter. We help those who require more substantial help and we also provide pastoral support.
