The Dean and Chapter of Llandaff Cathedral are delighted to announce the appointment of Reverend Kate Harrison to the position of Canon Chancellor. Reverend Harrison will be moving from her current parish in the Diocese of London this summer and will be officially licensed at the Cathedral in September.

In The Ministry Area of Barry Rev'd Zoe King has led a very special service of blessing for three WWI graves in Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery which have been taken over by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

“Hearing loss and deafness is an invisible disability. You can’t tell if a person is deaf or hard of hearing just by looking at them. Especially if they are like teenage me, who styled her hair purposely to hide her “embarrassing” hearing aids,” writes our Deaf Community Mission Outreach Worker, Nicola Roylance.

Five schools from across Bridgend gathered together in St Mary’s, Nolton for a celebration of Welsh language and culture at a diocesan Gymanfa Ganu organised by Clare Werrett, our Diocesan Head of Education.

Bishop Mary and Rev’d Emma have visited Llanfair Uniting Church in Penrhys in Rhondda Ministry Area to learn about the many ways the church makes a difference to the community. Llanfair is an ecumenical church, supported and recognised by eight of the historic churches in Wales.

This year Lent and Ramadan coincide with each other and several of our clergy have been invited to attend Iftar suppers alongside our Muslim brothers and sisters.

Once a fortnight, ‘The Lounge’ project transforms a classroom at Cowbridge Comprehensive School into a space where Year 7 pupils can meet and chat over a free hot chocolate during their lunch break.

Congratulations to Llansannor & Llanharry C/W Primary School in Cowbridge Ministry Area who are the first of our schools in the Vale of Glamorgan to be given the prestigious Schools of Sanctuary Award, following two years of hard work.
