St Winifred’s Church in Penrhiwceiber has once again been awarded the prestigious Green Flag Community Award, marking an incredible fifth consecutive year of recognition. The award, which sets the benchmark for well-managed parks and green spaces across the UK and beyond, celebrates not only the beauty of St Winifred’s grounds but also the deep sense of care and community behind them.

Age is no barrier to determination, and Jeff Harris is living proof. At 83 years young Jeff, an active and beloved member of St David’s Church in Tonyrefail, has completed an extraordinary sponsored cycle ride across the Llan Ministry Area, visiting all 12 churches in one inspiring journey to raise funds for restoration work to St David’s.

Pupils in one of our schools are celebrating after being presented with the first award in a new scheme aimed at helping young people speak out on global issues.

Members of the Bishop’s Council recently took part in a vital First Aid and defibrillator training session led by the Revd Geraint John, Ministry Area Leader for Pedair Afon MA, who is also a qualified first aid trainer and volunteer Community First Responder with the Welsh Ambulance Service.

Llandaff Cathedral was full to bursting on Monday morning as the Education Team hosted the Annual Year 6 School Leavers' Service with invitations extended to pupils and teachers from all of our church primary schools.

On July 3rd pilgrims of different denominations and faiths came together to celebrate faith and fellowship at an Ecumenical and Inter-religious Pilgrimage hosted jointly by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cardiff-Menevia, the Diocese of Llandaff, and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

Bishop Mary, Rev'd Emma Ackland, Rev'd Andrew James (Ministry Area Leader for De Morgannwg Ministry Area) and Head of Education Clare Werrett had a wonderful morning with the staff and pupils at St Andrew's Major CinW Primary School celebrating all the hard work that has gone in to creating the school's new faith garden.

The two groups which were inaugurated in response to the Bangor Cathedral Visitation Report and a safeguarding audit by the specialist charity thirtyone:eight have begun to meet regularly.
